SUMMARY:Study Hall - Close Quarters
DESCRIPTION:Registration Closed.  Remember those study halls in high school and how painful they were?  In theory everyone was supposed to be doing their homework.  Actuality they were doing everything but homework.  Come on\, you remember giving that attractive person on the other side of the room a little smile.   Well Critical Edge has come up with a twist on the old study hall concept.  We have started offering a continuing series of mini classes that you can sink your teeth into.   You’ll be interested enough in the material that you won’t even think about smiling at anyone.  Each session is a brief\, focused study of a  particular skill or concept related to personal security and includes a brief classroom session as well as practical exercises.   Previous sessions addressed the basics of low-light defensive shooting and the draw from concealment.   This session will focus on close quarters defense with a pistol.  Advance registration required.   \nStudy Hall sessions are open to individuals age 21 and above that may legally possess a firearm.  The course is open to individuals age 21 and above that may legally possess a firearm.  Under federal law\, however\, certain non-U.S. citizens are prohibited from participating.    Only non-U.S. citizens who are: (1) lawfully permanent residents (e.g.\, green card holders); (2) refugees; or (3) individuals who have been granted asylum may participate in this course. There are no prerequisites for the sessions.  But\, taking the NRA Basic Pistol course or equivalent before joining a Study Hall session is highly encouraged.  The sessions are conducted on a compressed schedule.  Time constraints do not permit a review of basic pistol skills.  Students must be familiar with their pistol\, its operation and demonstrate safe firearms handling skills throughout the session. \nDate – May 17\, 2021.  The Study Hall will be will be held on Monday May 17th at the in the Duncannon Sportsmen’s Association pistol range.   This is a live fire session.  We will also be making use of SIRT laser pistols for the training session.  We will begin at 6:30 PM and conclude at about 8:30 PM.  This Study Hall is limited to six Participants. \nTo reserve a spot please go to the following to make payment:  https://criticaledge.us/make-a-payment/  The fee for the session is $20.00.  To finalize registration\, please also send an email (to:  carl.walker@criticaledge.us ) with the following information: \nYour name; \nMailing address; \nPhone number; \nPlease indicate if you are a member of the Duncannon Sportsmen’s Association; \nThe brand\, model and caliber of any firearm you will be bringing to the session; \nYour interests with regard to firearms and any firearms; and \nA brief description of your previous experience with firearms; and any personal security goals you may have. \n  \n  \n
