DESCRIPTION:Registration closed. \nThis 16-hour course teaches the knowledge\, skills and attitude essential to organizing\, promoting and teaching NRA’s Basic Pistol Shooting course. \nPrerequisite: Possession of basic firearm safety and shooting skills is a perquisite for certification as an NRA instructor. Prior to the instructor training\, candidates complete a pre-course questionnaire and demonstrate their firearm background in pre-course assessment exercises.\nDescription: Course is presented in two parts: basic instructor training\, and discipline specific instructor training. Students demonstrate organizational and teaching skills via participation in practical exercises during the course\, and complete an instructor certification examination. Students will receive the NRA Trainer’s Guide\, NRA Pistol Shooting Instructor Candidate Packet and NRA Basic Pistol Shooting course student packet. \nStudents must have successfully completed the NRA Basic Pistol course prior to beginning the Pistol Instructor class and provide a copy of their Basic Pistol certification.  Students must be competent in the safe handling and operation of their firearm and be a U.S. citizen age 21 or above that may legally possess a firearm.  Due to current interpretations of International Traffic in Arms Regulations stemming from the Arms Export Control Act of 1976\, only current\, lawful “US Persons” – both US Citizens and lawful permanent Resident Aliens in possession of a current I-551 (colloquially known as a “Green Card”) are allowed to participate in NRA firearms training courses. \nThe fee for the course is $300.00.  Members of the Duncannon Sportsmen’s Association\, veterans and first responders receive a $35.00 discount.  The fee for members of the U.S. military on active duty and students that have previously taken this class is $200.00. \nClick here to register:  NRA Instructor Pistol Shooting Course | Course Details | NRA Training (nrainstructors.org)
