DESCRIPTION:Registration Closed.  The Refuse to Be A Victim program teaches the techniques and tips needed to be alerted to dangerous situations and to avoid criminal confrontation.  It is not a physical self-defense or firearms class.  Rather\, it seeks to help people improve their personal safety practices and to provide insights into the tactics\, techniques and procedures commonly utilized by perpetrators of crime.  It covers valuable information about the psychology of criminal predators\, mental preparedness\, physical security\, home security\, automobile security\, security during travel\, and personal protection devices.  Such awareness is frequently the single most important factor in avoiding becoming a criminal’s victim. \nThe Refuse To Be  A Victim seminar will be held at the Duncannon Sportsmen’s Association on Saturday teh 29th of January 2022.  We will start at 11:00 AM and will conclude at approximately 3:00  PM.  But\, depending upon questions\, more or a less time may be required. \nPre-registration is required.  The cost of the seminar is $30.00 and $20.00 per person for second and subsequent members of the same household.  You can reserve a spot in the seminar by going to:  www.criticaledge.us/make-a-payment/   Please also send an email to:  Carl.Walker@criticaledge.us  to indicate which date you would like to attend.

DESCRIPTION:  \n \nRegistration Closed.  The focus of the NRA Basics of Shotgun shooting course is to help the students develop the knowledge\, skills\, and attitude to safely and effectively handle and fire a shotgun at a moving target.  Included are sections on ammunition and shotgun types\, ammunition selection\, shotguns and accessories\, gun handling\, shotgun shooting.  Safety is emphasized throughout the course.  The material presented in this course forms the core knowledge and skills used in all shotgun activities from hunting through home defense and formal competition.  This is an introductory level class with no prerequisites.  The class is also appropriate for experienced shotgunners who wish to strengthen their basic skills. \nThe course is open to individuals age 18 and above that may legally possess a firearm.  Under federal law\, however\, certain non-U.S. citizens are prohibited from participating in this course.    Only non-U.S. citizens who are: (1) lawfully permanent residents (e.g.\, green card holders); (2) refugees; or (3) individuals who have been granted asylum may participate in this course. DESCRIPTION:For many people\, the term “personal protection” evokes movie images of Bruce Lee or characters such as John Wick with arsenals of weapons.  In truth\, the use of force is only one element of personal protection and is a last resort.  Deterrence\, de-escalation\, escape\, evasion or otherwise avoiding an attack are all preferable resolutions. The Critical Edge Concealed Carry course is basic training for concealed carry.  It focuses on the effective use of a concealed firearm for self-defense.  Included are segments on concealment techniques and devices\, presenting the firearm from concealment\, utilizing cover and concealment\, presentation and movement\, low-light shooting engaging multiple targets and one-hand shooting.  The course also provides training in the development of concealed carry shooting skills\, special defensive shooting techniques\, legal aspects of concealed carry\, self defense and the law and the legal aftermath of a shooting outside the home.  These topics  form the key capabilities used in the concealed carry of a firearm. \n  \nThe course is open to individuals age 21 and above that may legally possess a firearm.  Under federal law\, however\, certain non-U.S. citizens are prohibited from participating in this course.    Only non-U.S. citizens who are: (1) lawfully permanent residents (e.g.\, green card holders); (2) refugees; or (3) individuals who have been granted asylum may participate in this course. DESCRIPTION:Registration Closed.    For many people\, the term “personal protection” evokes movie images of Bruce Lee or characters such as John Wick with arsenals of weapons.  In truth\, the use of force is only one element of personal protection and is a last resort.  Deterrence\, de-escalation\, escape\, evasion or otherwise avoiding an attack are all preferable resolutions. The Critical Edge Concealed Carry course is basic training for concealed carry.  It focuses on the effective use of a concealed firearm for self-defense.  Included are segments on concealment techniques and devices\, presenting the firearm from concealment\, utilizing cover and concealment\, presentation and movement\, low-light shooting engaging multiple targets and one-hand shooting.  The course also provides training in the development of concealed carry shooting skills\, special defensive shooting techniques\, legal aspects of concealed carry\, self defense and the law and the legal aftermath of a shooting outside the home.  These topics  form the key capabilities used in the concealed carry of a firearm. \n  \nThe course is open to individuals age 21 and above that may legally possess a firearm.  The course is open to individuals age 21 and above that may legally possess a firearm.  Under federal law\, however\, certain non-U.S. citizens are prohibited from participating in this course.    Only non-U.S. citizens who are: (1) lawfully permanent residents (e.g.\, green card holders); (2) refugees; or (3) individuals who have been granted asylum may participate in this course. DESCRIPTION:Registration Closed.  Remember those study halls in high school and how painful they were?  In theory everyone was supposed to be doing their homework.  Actuality they were doing everything but homework.  Come on\, you remember giving that attractive person on the other side of the room a little smile.   Well Critical Edge has come up with a twist on the old study hall concept.  We have started offering a continuing series of mini classes that you can sink your teeth into.   You’ll be interested enough in the material that you won’t even think about smiling at anyone.  Each session is a brief\, focused study of a  particular skill or concept related to personal security and includes a brief classroom session as well as practical exercises.   Previous sessions addressed the basics of low-light defensive shooting and the draw from concealment.   This session will focus on close quarters defense with a pistol.  Advance registration required.   \nStudy Hall sessions are open to individuals age 21 and above that may legally possess a firearm.  The course is open to individuals age 21 and above that may legally possess a firearm.  Under federal law\, however\, certain non-U.S. citizens are prohibited from participating.    Only non-U.S. citizens who are: (1) lawfully permanent residents (e.g.\, green card holders); (2) refugees; or (3) individuals who have been granted asylum may participate in this course. DESCRIPTION:Registration Closed.  For many people\, the term “personal protection” evokes movie images of Bruce Lee or characters such as John Wick with arsenals of weapons.  In truth\, the use of force is only one element of personal protection and is a last resort.  Deterrence\, de-escalation\, escape\, evasion or otherwise avoiding an attack are all preferable resolutions.
