SUMMARY:NRA Instructor Basic Rifle
DESCRIPTION:Preregistration required. \n  \nThis 16-hour course teaches the knowledge\, skills and attitude essential to organizing\, promoting and teaching NRA’s Basic Rifle Shooting course. \nPrerequisites: \n!.  Students must have successfully completed the NRA Basic Rifle Couse and provide appropriate documentation; \n\nPossession of basic firearm safety and shooting skills is a prerequisite for certification as an NRA instructor. Prior to the instructor training\, candidates complete a pre-course questionnaire and demonstrate their firearm background in a pre-course assessment exercise; additionally\nBy NRA policy\, this course must have a minimum of four students. If we don’t meet that requirement\, we will have to reschedule the course.\n\nDescription: Course is presented in two parts: basic instructor training (BIT)\, and discipline specific instructor training. Students demonstrate organizational and teaching skills via participation in practical exercises during the course\, and complete an instructor certification examination. \nNRA rifle instructor certifications are available to individuals who are 21 years of age or older and are otherwise fully qualified to conduct NRA basic firearm training courses.  NRA Assistant Instructor certifications are available for individuals 18 years of age or older who assist certified instructors to gain the knowledge and experience needed to become certified instructors.  NRA Apprentice Instructor certifications are available for individuals 13 – 17 years of age who wish to understudy a certified instructor.  Students below age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.  Please coordinate the attendance of students below the age of 18 with Critical Edge in advance of signing up for the class. \nDue to current interpretations of International Traffic in Arms Regulations stemming from the Arms Export Control Act of 1976\, only current\, lawful “US Persons” – both US Citizens and lawful permanent Resident Aliens in possession of a current I-551 (colloquially known as a “Green Card”) are allowed to participate in NRA firearms training courses. \nPreregistration and an initial deposit of 50% is required for registration and reservation of a spot in the class.  You may cancel your reservation up to 72 hours before the class begins and request to receive a full refund.
