The course also includes information on shooting positions, aiming and firing techniques, the use of cover and concealment, and methods of clearing various types of firearm malfunctions. The instruction begins with principles of safety and moves on to cover mental preparation, the development of defensive shooting skills, strategies for home and personal safety, the selection of firearms, ammunition and accessories for personal protection and includes segments on self defense and the law and the aftermath of a defensive shooting.
